My interests
As an undergraduate student studying economics, I have a strong interest in global finance as well as microeconomics. Coming from Cyprus to study in the US, I try to closely follow economic news from my home country as well as major developments in markets worldwide. I’m fascinated by monetary policy and how central banks influence economic growth. In my free time, I like reading economic analyses in publications like The Economist and the Financial Times. On campus, I’m an active member of the economics society, which connects me with professors and peers who share my interests. I’m hoping to study abroad next year to get direct experience with foreign economies. As an aspiring international economist, I aim to gain diverse global perspectives from my undergraduate education.

Kristia, it is fascinating to hear of your interests of worldwide economics. I too am an economics major, how do you enjoy the coursework and studying of the major so far? Do you think that your economic studies will allow you travel? I do quite like the idea of traveling for work myself. Let me know about that and keep up the good work!
